Cortlin Martin

Cortlin is our President and Founder here at TOD. He is also a Disabled Navy Veteran. He served 10 years and was medically discharged. When Cortlin moved back to the Wenatchee Valley Here in Washington, he struggled with the adjustment, as well as the major lifestyle change.  Before joining the Navy, Cortlin was a volunteer firefighter for several years. Cortlin is one of those people that will go out of their way to do what they can for you, including giving you the shirt off his back.

Back in March of 2020, he learned of an Unaccompanied Marine Corps veteran, and he took to Facebook and started spreading the word. During that time something struck him at the core of his being. He knew he needed to do something not just for the Unaccompanied, but for active duty, and veterans as well. There is no reason any member, past, present, or future should ever be laid to rest alone!

Cortlin is a father of two and works as a Director of Sales for a local Real Estate Agency, where he continues to help other people in the community. Cortlin is an avid outdoorsman and has found peace with his time in the outdoors.

Jose Solis

Jose Solis is a founding member and our Treasurer. Jose is an Army veteran, he served from August 2007 until August 2015. He was an infantryman stationed in Fort Lewis (now known as Joint Base Lewis McChord) deployed with the 3rd Brigade 2nd Infantry Division to Iraq (2009-2010). After that, he moved to the 4th Brigade 1st Infantry Division in Fort Riley, KS, and deployed with them to Afghanistan (2012-2013). His last duty station was with the 1st Brigade 25th Infantry Division in Fort Wainwright, AK. Due to medical reasons, he got medically retired as a Sergeant, but his goal was to make it a 20+ year career out of the military.

He is happily married to his wife Amelia. They have 4 children, ages 16, 14, 11, and 6. They reside in Wenatchee, WA. Now, Jose is attending a local community college to obtain his HVAC certification. He has an Associates in Technical Science in Automotive Technology.

Over the years of being out, Jose has dealt with losing close friends that he has deployed with, due to PTSD. He has made it his personal goal to help and be of service out in the veteran community. He is active with various veteran organizations; VFW, American Legion, Patriotic Council, and Wenatchee Valley College Veteran Knights.

Jonathan Handall

Jonathan (Jonny) Handall is a founding member and one of our Board Members, he served in the US Navy from 2007-2011 aboard the USS John C. Stennis and USS Abraham Lincoln. Jonny joined with the vision and goal to make a difference and support the American values we all love and endure. As a Navy Aviation Boatswain Equipment Mate (ABE3) he launched aircraft to support ground missions in Operation Enduring Freedom. Throughout many deployments, Jonny was an active member of the alpha security team assisting in protecting the ship and crew against foreign and domestic threats.

Considering himself lucky to have made it back home to his family in one piece, Jonny witnessed this is something some of his fellow service members did not have the same privilege to complete and understands the impact that has. Jonny is making a continued commitment to ensuring his fellow brothers and sisters will not go without but instead will have a resource for assistance needed and deserved by taking on this incredible mission with “Tour of Duty”

Steve Elder

Steve is one of our founding members and a Surface Deck Limited Duty Officer in the United States Navy. He has served for just over 14 years being stationed in San Diego, Virginia, Yokosuka Japan, United States Naval Academy, and Everett, WA.

He has been a volunteer firefighter for over 14 years working for multiple different fire stations. While stationed in San Diego he and Cortlin (Founder) did many fundraisers, food drives, and other community service events to help however they could.

Guided by faith to help not only his community but anywhere he can every chance he gets, he is just a good ol’ boy with a get-it-done attitude. Steve has 3 wonderful children and a beautiful wife who supports him in everything he does, without his family’s support he says none of his achievements would be possible.
